Whoopi Goldberg Defends Taylor Swift Amid Chiefs Fans Accusing Her Of Travis Kelce’s “Slow Start” To NFL Season: “Your Team Is Doing Well, Shut Up!”
Whoopi Goldberg is not here for Taylor Swift’s vilification and defended the singer amid the Kansas City Chiefs fans trying to blame her for Travis Kelce’s “slow start” to the NFL season.

The View took to the “Hot Topics” table to debate some fans saying Swift is the culprit of Kelce’s slowest start to the football season since his rookie season.

“Apparently they forgot that they won the Super Bowl last year with [Kelce] and they were just as tight then as they are now,” Goldberg said.

The Chiefs have won all three games this season, but Kelce has only had eight catches for 69 yards and zero touchdowns so far.

Swift attended Kelce’s first two games and skipped the latest game, in which the Chiefs faced off against the Falcons, which ended with a score of 22-17.

The View’s resident Swiftie, Alyssa Farah Griffin, noted, “As I understand it, football is a team sport, so just because [Kelce’s] not making touchdowns doesn’t mean he’s not contributing to the success of the team. They’re currently undefeated this season, and once again, just the classic blaming a woman.”
“This is a guy who’s doing movies now, he’s doing television commercials, he’s doing all kinds of stuff,” Goldberg said of Kelce. “He might have been a little busy, and maybe he’s not 12 anymore. He’s still a valuable player.”
Sunny Hostin agreed with Goldberg that the backlash stemmed from “the crazy MAGA people.”

“Grow up yall,” Goldberg added. “Grow up! Stop putting this on her. Your team is fine. Your team is doing well, shut up!”
Following the game against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes addressed Kelce’s slow start.

“The respect factor [teams] have for Travis is just unreal. We’re calling a lot of plays for Travis and it’s like two or three people are going to him,” Mahomes said, according to “He understands. That’s the great thing about him, is he wants to make an impact on the game, but he wants to win at the end of the day. I’m gonna try my best to keep feeding him the ball whenever he’s there and whenever he’s open.”
